Peligent

Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 25, 2026

Your data belongs to you. At Peligent, we believe privacy is a fundamental right, not a checkbox. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. We have written it in plain language because we think you deserve to actually understand it.

What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to all Peligent products and services:

  • Our website at peligent.com
  • The Peligent web application at app.peligent.com
  • The Peligent AI Assistant WordPress plugin and its WooCommerce integration

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account or contact us, we collect basic information like your name, email address, and company or store details so we can set up and personalize your experience. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we also collect billing information to process your payments.

Content You Provide

When you use our AI assistant, we collect the messages, prompts, and instructions you send so we can generate helpful responses for you.

Usage Information

We automatically collect some technical information when you use our services, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and general usage patterns. This helps us keep things running smoothly and improve the experience over time.

Your WooCommerce Store Data

When you install and connect the Peligent AI Assistant plugin, your WordPress site shares data from your WooCommerce store with our service so we can power AI features like product insights, order summaries, and automated recommendations.

Depending on your configuration, this may include:

  • Store information — your store URL, name, currency, and technical details about your setup
  • Product data — names, descriptions, categories, prices, stock levels, and related details
  • Order data — order summaries, purchased items, totals, and fulfillment status
  • Customer data — if you enable this, customer names, contact details, and order history

We use this information solely to operate and improve Peligent's features for your store. We never sell your store data or your customers' data.

Third-Party Connections

Peligent lets you connect external services to get more out of your data. These connections are always optional and initiated by you. Here is how we handle data from each.

Sign In with Google

If you choose to sign in with your Google account, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google to create or link your Peligent account. We do not receive or store your Google password. You can unlink your Google account at any time from your account settings.

Google Analytics

You can connect your Google Analytics account to view traffic and performance data directly inside Peligent. When you do, we access your analytics data — such as page views, sessions, and traffic sources — in read-only mode. We cannot modify your Google Analytics settings or data. This connection is used solely to display reports within your Peligent dashboard.

Google Search Console

Similarly, you can connect Google Search Console to see how your site performs in search results. We access your search performance data — such as search queries, impressions, and click-through rates — in read-only mode. We use this data only to display insights within your dashboard.

For all Google integrations, you can disconnect at any time from your site settings, which immediately revokes our access. You can also revoke access directly from your Google Account permissions page .

Peligent's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements. For more details, see our Google API Disclosure .

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Power AI-based responses, recommendations, and insights for your store
  • Display analytics and performance reports you have connected
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Respond to your support requests and communicate with you
  • Monitor performance, prevent abuse, and keep our systems secure
  • Comply with applicable laws

How We Protect Your Data

We take the security of your information seriously. We protect your data using industry-standard practices, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
  • Secure storage of authentication credentials — we never store your third-party passwords
  • Access controls that limit who can access your data within our team
  • Regular monitoring of our systems for vulnerabilities

No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your information and improve our security practices.

Data Sharing

We never sell your personal information. We do not share your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing our services. We may share information only with:

  • Service providers — trusted partners who help us operate our infrastructure and process payments, bound by confidentiality obligations
  • Professional advisors — such as legal counsel or accountants, when necessary
  • Law enforcement — only when required by applicable law or valid legal process

How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our active systems within 30 days. Some information may be retained longer where required by law (such as billing records) or for legitimate business purposes (such as aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics).

When you disconnect a third-party integration (like Google Analytics), we remove the associated data and credentials from our systems promptly.

Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under laws such as the GDPR (Europe), CCPA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), or similar regulations. These rights may include:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal data
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format, where applicable
  • Objection — object to certain types of processing
  • Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected] . We will respond within 30 days.

If you are a store owner using our WooCommerce integration, you are responsible for handling privacy requests from your own customers. We will assist you where possible.

Children's Privacy

Peligent is designed for business use and is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how our services are used. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Some features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

International Data Transfers

Our services are operated from Canada. If you are accessing our services from outside Canada, your information may be transferred to and processed in Canada or other countries. We take appropriate steps to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this policy and applicable laws.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify you by email. Your continued use of our services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
